Fry Cook on Venus Podcast: The Die

"OMG I literally almost died" is how I'd like to tee up this episode of #FCoV but that's said so much you probably wouldn't believe me. So maybe I should talk about my drastic weight loss, dehydration, heart rate of 215 or how my body went into shock. I could mention the joys of multiple blood transfusions, being fed through tubes or not being able to walk without permission or an IV pole. However I don't know what you're into nor am I here to judge. Just know that I was sick & there's a podcast about it. Give it a play, shower me with pity/love, leave a comment & like the page.

I Have to Be Thankful Again?

T'was the weekend of Thanksgiving here in Canada & your truly was in the mood to be ever so festive sick. I literally just sneezed twice so I'm not back at 100% yet. However, in an effort to recap the weekend & keep up with all the sentimental blog posts that are published during holiday weekends, I'm going to string together a few sentences.

Montreal 2012

I spent this past long weekend in La Belle Province to take in the Osheaga music festival. I had been looking forward to this trip for months & for it to actually live up to the hype would've been somewhat of a miracle. Did it? Well, there's a story behind that.

Sunday In Toronto

Toronto is home to many a festival in the month of June. Among others this weekend Luminato, the Much Music Video Awards & North By Northeast were in full swing & in walking distance from one another. You already know I was bound to make an appearance.

3 Courses Down

There goes another semester of university! I spent most of this past semester unhappy & now that I'm free finished, I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. However, you don't want to read about how I feel, do you? You're here for the misadventures of the past few weeks, aren't you? Sigh, alright. Here's my exam recap.

Down With The CNE

In the city I call my hometown, the Canadian National Exhibition is a staple of the summer. It's probably the only thing the end of summer has going for it other than sunsets & end of season sales. My Uncle wanted to head down this year with his family to take in the vibes & since he had extra space his van, Tru-Def & I got to go with them. Believe me, fun was had.

Live From New York

My tour of the northeastern United States of America has be a successful one. We saw New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, D.C. & Virginia. Since NYC is the city that never sleeps, it's only right that I spend my last few hours in The Bronx reflecting on the adventure.

Indians VS Blue Jays

My "ticket source" came through with a pair of Blue Jays tickets that she thought I would be able to use. Since Tru-Def didn't have plans for the night, we put those bad boys to use. I'm never sure about going to sporting events with people who don't watch any games at home, but never let it be said that that girl doesn't go hard.

The Night That Made No Sense

Well... THAT just happened. I spent an interesting night with 3 of my oldest friends & I have a feeling that we'll be talking about it for a while. While I had the camera in my pocket for at least half the night, I couldn't take myself out of the mayhem for long enough to film any of it. So now I get to try to remember it all. Yeah, this is going to go well...

It's Friday, Friday

Last night, Tru-Def put me on to Rebecca Black's "Friday". I've shown her a lot of random videos, but whenever she sends one my way it's quality.

Reading Week = No Bueno

It's the last official day of what has been my week off of school & as always, I wish I had more time. This week was less of a vacation & more of a random set of days off for me. Oh, you don't think there's a difference between the two? Well, you just may want to read the rest of this then.

I Look Good Though

Last night I had an idea about what today was going to be like. I had an idea of what the weather was going to be like & when my classes were. Other than that, I figured I'd be able to wing it. I assumed that without a 3hr lab this morning, I'd have an easy day. However, as you well know, my expectations are seldom met. Remember when I told you about how rough my Wednesdays were going to be? Well, as I sit in the computer lab while I kill a 4hr torture session break, let me tell you how my day has been.

Oral Healthcare

I needed an adventure to shake me out of my seemingly month-long funk. I think I may have achieved that in the form of a trip to the dentist. It was scheduled for 10:40 on Saturday morning & I was up at 9am. Of course, being me, I didn't get out of bed until 10am.

Fries With That

Yesterday, two of my favourite people on the Internet inadvertently reminded me of a story that I had almost forgotten. One had recently made a trip down to the States & the other had mentioned that she ended up at a certain restaurant that we all know & love. How do those end up as a story? Well, it is me we're dealing with.

Caribana Weekend 2010

Thurs: Dad & I were totally at odds with this wedding coming up. Other than the fact that I knew the groom's dad, I had know idea about anything regarding this "auspicious" occasion. Plus I had an essay due by Tuesday & I'm never really all that confident in my own ability to write. That didn't really stop Dad though. I felt like I was in 'The Twilight Zone' with dude telling me to not study & go party. T'was eerie, to say the least. I was sure though that I was heading to the airport to pick up family for the wedding so, as always, Tru-Def & I squeezed in some good times at Pearson.

O.T.P. – Warm/Cool Showers on Cold/Hot Nights

Yes, I was too lazy to type this up weeks ago. Well, it's not so much laziness as it is an unwillingness to prove myself wrong... again.

I sided with team cool showers on hot nights.

RESULTS:

O.T.P. – LUCKY v TOXIC

Welcome to 'On The Poll'; a series that aims to random questions that cross my mind, randomly. Questions are asked on Twitter, Facebook, Wordpress or even in real life (for the unfortunate few of you have to see me on a daily basis). Let's see how far this can go on before it just gets annoying, shall we?

Party of the Year: Recap

They say you can't choose your family. I say that if you've grown up with certain people all your life, then regardless of relation, that is your family. With that said, Friday nights with the Trini posse have been great since childhood; tonight was no different. Shout-outs to Stacy & Rienzie for bring everyone together for a fantastic night that won't soon be forgotten. Plus, Stacy (almost) made me cry lol. Shout-outs to Brian (aka The Lost Gotti) for being my drinking partner & camera-man for the evening. Hopefully you remember the party when you wake up in the morning. Shout-outs to Ashley for requesting some Lady GaGa for us (because you know I'm not going to the DJ & asking for that). Shout-outs to the entire population of the dance-floor, for there is no genre that can dampen out collective spirit. Shout-outs to Trudith & Stevie for continually being my partners in crime; even when the only crime being committed is mouthing lyrics to songs. Finally, shout-outs to the entire family. You never fail to remind me why I should keep doing what I do.

Easter Seals Fundraiser 2009

A good time as always. Deokie, here's a sample of what you missed. If you want any video, I'll pass that on.
