I Have to Be Thankful Again?

T'was the weekend of Thanksgiving here in Canada & your truly was in the mood to be ever so festive sick. I literally just sneezed twice so I'm not back at 100% yet. However, in an effort to recap the weekend & keep up with all the sentimental blog posts that are published during holiday weekends, I'm going to string together a few sentences.

Party of the Year: Recap

They say you can't choose your family. I say that if you've grown up with certain people all your life, then regardless of relation, that is your family. With that said, Friday nights with the Trini posse have been great since childhood; tonight was no different. Shout-outs to Stacy & Rienzie for bring everyone together for a fantastic night that won't soon be forgotten. Plus, Stacy (almost) made me cry lol. Shout-outs to Brian (aka The Lost Gotti) for being my drinking partner & camera-man for the evening. Hopefully you remember the party when you wake up in the morning. Shout-outs to Ashley for requesting some Lady GaGa for us (because you know I'm not going to the DJ & asking for that). Shout-outs to the entire population of the dance-floor, for there is no genre that can dampen out collective spirit. Shout-outs to Trudith & Stevie for continually being my partners in crime; even when the only crime being committed is mouthing lyrics to songs. Finally, shout-outs to the entire family. You never fail to remind me why I should keep doing what I do.

Just Like Old Times

What a good Sunday! We got together with the Trini side of the family & did it up the way we used to. Great lines like: "There's a dark cloud hanging over campuses...University students are at the centre of the culture of death"; "You know, if we all walk together in a straight line we could look like a protest" ("Where are we from?...Columbo!"); and "Timeout, okay? Timeout with the shirt jokes." Shout-outs to Ashley for her big day! Shout-outs to Celine for explaining the bear in the balloon and all the Aunties & Uncles that were around too. To those people out there who take their family for granted, love the time you have with them while you have it. One day, you'll be old & sitting in a dinning room reminiscing about that time when someone broke her leg while you wonder where the time went.
