The Ol' Ball Game

This may have been the most fun Toronto Blue Jays game I've ever been to. We beat the New York Yankees 8-1 but the real fun was with the other fans at the game.
Tru-Def, Madre & I took this one in with what looked like a decent sized crowd at the Dome. Before we got inside, this over overly hyped Filipino guy was getting everyone around him excited & of course I got in on that action. I love dapping up random characters, what can I say? We also saw a guy who was clearly going out of his way to look like The Weeknd. I was trying to sell everyone around us that "That's Abel! You know this is his part of town, right?" Same hair & army jacket but the face was all wrong. Our seats were the best I've ever had for a baseball game & my mind was blown as sat down. The controversy of the previous game spilled over to tonight for the fans, as we were collectively vexed about the Brett Lawrie vs. Bill Miller situation. Little did any of us know, Lawrie had a 4-game suspension waiting for him after he finished playing in this one. Since the umpire who made the questionable calls in our last game was scheduled to be on 3rd base along with Lawrie, & constant target Alex Rodriguez, our section took it upon ourselves to be ridiculously obnoxious. We had a legitimate "Miller wears a thong" chant going for a while. An older lady in the row in front of us, who was filling out a box score so you knew she was a hardcore fan, got mad at one guy for constantly chirping the umpire but she chilled out for her discussion regarding the fact that they no longer make pennies with my legend of a friend, Tru-Def. She's you in the future, kid. Don't fight it!
On a negative note, someone either fell down the stairs or passed out & a  stretcher was required to get them out of the Dome. However our section supported our own as that person didn't get out of there without our applause. Madre had the girl next to her accidentally elbow her in the midst of a home-run celebration but by the end of the night they looked like good friends. The squad of French-Canadians behind us were great as well because while I know they're into "Ole, Ole" tonight we all sang "Jose, Jose" together. Additional shout-outs to J.E. Skeets & Mayor Rob Ford who I spotted in the section next to us. It was an amazing time & I can't wait until the next one. Honestly, what are you doing tomorrow?
